🏖️ Read this before you buy: your all-inclusive almost certainly has free Wi-Fi, and Jamaica is the all-inclusive capital of the Caribbean. This is the most useful paragraph on the page and it costs us money to write. Sandals, Riu, Hyatt Ziva, Iberostar, Secrets, Couples — essentially every major resort includes property-wide Wi-Fi in the rate. If your trip is Sangster International → transfer → seven days on the beach → transfer → home, your actual mobile data needs are: the drive from the airport, one or two excursions, and the ride back. That’s 1–3GB for a week. GigSky’s 1GB at $6.99 or Nomad’s 3GB at $16 covers it comfortably.
But buy something. Here’s why “nothing” is the wrong answer: your home carrier charges roughly $10–15 per day for Caribbean roaming, and the transfer from Montego Bay is exactly when you want Maps working. One day of roaming costs more than a week of eSIM. The honest framing is simply this: buy small unless you’re leaving the property properly — Blue Mountains, Negril road trip, Port Antonio, a rental car. Then, and only then, does 10GB or unlimited make sense.
📡 Two carriers, and one correction: Airalo runs FLOW, not Digicel. Jamaica has Digicel and FLOW. That’s it. What matters is which one your eSIM sits on, and the internet — including our own previous version — has been getting Airalo wrong. Airalo’s own page lists FLOW on its standard, unlimited and calls plans. Not Digicel.
So the real map: Holafly = Digicel. Nomad = FLOW (4G). Airalo = FLOW. GigSky and Saily don’t name their carrier.
