Nomad vs Breeze: which plan fits your trip?

These are purchase-price comparisons, not speed rankings. Sources: Nomad Europe, Breeze Europe Lite and Breeze Europe. For other providers, see my Europe eSIM guide.

Europe prices: the winner changes with the allowance

Nomad has separate 35-country and 36-country options. Breeze has a 34-destination Europe Lite product and a separate 36-destination Europe product. A similar country count does not make their maps interchangeable. Here are the current fixed-data choices, before coupons.

Checked 2 November 2026 at the Nomad storefront and the Breeze Lite and Breeze Europe product pages. Nomad Europe 35 regular prices are €33.14 for 20GB and €42.99 for 50GB; the lower figures above are current promotions, not permanent prices.

At 10GB, Breeze Lite saves €5.65 against Nomad. At 20GB, Nomad Europe 35 saves only €0.77 against Lite. That is a reason to choose the right map before celebrating a discount. At 50GB, Nomad has a €17.60 lower total, but Breeze Lite gives another 15 days of validity.

Nomad’s 50GB sale works out to about €0.63 per GB. I would still buy Breeze Lite 5GB for €9.95 if that covered my needs: paying €31.35 for mostly unused data is a larger bill. My cheapest Europe eSIM comparison follows the same total-spend approach.

Coverage: one extra stop can change the price

Breeze Lite includes France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, but not the UK or Turkey. Its separate Europe product includes the UK and Turkey. Within Nomad, both Europe variants include the UK; Turkey requires the 36-country option. Andorra is absent from all four Europe lists compared here.

For Lisbon and Paris, Lite may be the economical starting point. Add London and compare Nomad with the separate Breeze Europe offer instead. Add Istanbul and the Nomad 20GB price changes from the €24.18 sale to €40.30 on Europe 36. Breeze Europe 20GB is then the lower checked bill at €35.95.

The lists are not simple upgrades. Breeze Lite includes Moldova while the checked Breeze Europe product does not. Nomad Europe 35 includes Gibraltar and San Marino while Europe 36 does not. Networks and company background: useful facts, not a speed test

Nomad is a LotusFlare product. Breeze belongs to the eSIM Go business. Those company relationships identify the services; they do not prove faster data, better rural reception or connectivity on a flight. I would not pay extra solely for an airline-client association.

These are the partners listed for the regional products checked on 2 November 2026, using the provider coverage tables linked above. Breeze’s German list repeats O2 under two labels; I have not counted those as independent networks. A listed 5G partner still requires a compatible device, suitable location and available service. None of this establishes a measured speed winner.

Unlimited day plans: compare the high-speed allowance

Both providers now sell day-based Europe offers. The word unlimited does not mean uninterrupted full speed. Nomad Europe 35 provides 2GB per 24-hour period, then 1Mbps until the next reset. Breeze day plans provide 1GB per 24-hour period, then a maximum download speed of 512kbps.

If the route fits both, Nomad’s five-day option costs just €0.07 more than Lite and has twice the daily high-speed allowance. For ten days, the difference is €0.50. That can be a worthwhile upgrade, but it does not let you carry yesterday’s unused high-speed data into a busy day.

As a planning example, a 4GB afternoon of laptop work passes Nomad’s 2GB threshold and Breeze’s 1GB threshold. A fixed pool lets you use its remaining balance unevenly across days. Neither option guarantees video-call quality, so I would keep reliable accommodation Wi-Fi as another option for important work.

Managing your data: app, browser and top-ups

Nomad’s app and website both show balance and expiry and offer eligible add-ons. Its usage guidance allows for reporting delays, including a few minutes before status changes appear. It is useful monitoring, not an exact second-by-second meter. Alerts are sent at 60% and 80% usage.

Breeze lets you check balance, expiry and queued bundles through your website account, with alerts at 50% and 80%. Its current privacy policy also mentions an app and in-app payments. I therefore would not describe it as a service with no app. The workflow verified for this comparison is its web account management.

For Nomad, buy an eligible add-on while the current plan is active. It normally starts when the base data runs out or the plan expires, with its own validity; leftover base data does not roll over. Availability depends on the selected product, so check the add-on conditions before relying on a refill.

Breeze supports top-ups through My Account and can queue another bundle before or after your balance runs out. Some changes of plan type require another eSIM, which should be shown at checkout. A top-up does not carry unused data past its original expiry. Read its top-up and queueing instructions.

Keep the working profile installed. Nomad’s reinstall rules vary by supplier, and some profiles cannot be recovered after deletion. Breeze’s English help describes a six-month inactivity period, reset when data is used. Neither profile should be described as permanently reusable without conditions.

Support and refunds

Nomad advertises 24/7 support through the app and website. Breeze offers live chat, a help center and email; unresolved chatbot issues can become support tickets. I have not tested response times, and the current evidence does not support calling Breeze business-hours-only or promising immediate human assistance.

Check refund terms before purchase. The Nomad unlimited package inspected for this update was marked non-refundable. Breeze’s refund process treats unused purchases and already-started bundles differently. Neither should be sold as an unconditional money-back safety net after use.

Installation: prepare before you need mobile data

Use a carrier-unlocked, eSIM-compatible phone and a stable internet connection for installation. Installing a profile and starting its data validity are different steps. If your home country is covered, enabling the travel line and using it there can start the clock before departure.

The paid Europe offers checked here start on a supported network, or automatically after 60 days from purchase. Turn off data roaming on your home SIM and select the travel eSIM for mobile data.

Breeze installation walkthrough

Breeze’s official installation video below provides a second walkthrough. Ordinary Breeze bundles start on first data use in a covered area. Its English help gives an unused activation window of up to six months from purchase. That window is separate from the seven-, 30- or 45-day validity of the plan you buy. See when to install.

Both compared Europe products are data-only. WhatsApp can use that connection, while your home SIM can remain available for its number. Check home-carrier call and SMS roaming charges. Installing a travel eSIM does not make ordinary cellular calls free.

Families, remote work and longer routes

A hotspot shares one phone’s balance with devices nearby. It does not split that balance into independent eSIMs for people who separate during the day. For a family visiting different places, price a suitable plan for each connected phone. For two people staying together, a permitted hotspot may be enough, but the host phone needs signal, battery and the right settings.

The reviewed providers support tethering, subject to the plan allowance, daily speed policy and device/network conditions. I could not confirm a currently purchasable Nomad 100GB family bundle or a shared 50GB pool across four independent profiles. I would not build a family budget around those older claims. For Europe plus the US, neither brand automatically requires two profiles. Nomad Global-EX includes the US and listed European destinations, with 10GB/180 days at €34.93 across 98 destinations. Global-EX starts on first connection to a supported network or automatically 60 days after purchase; its 180-day validity is a separate period. Breeze’s current Global product also includes US and European stops; its 10GB/30-day price is €92.95. These have different maps and validity. No separate current Breeze EU+USA offer was established, so check the actual Global product.

For repeat travel, both brands also have products with periodic allowances. Nomad Pass is an automatically renewing subscription with 1GB to claim each 30-day period and eligible add-on benefits. Breeze Travel Pass distributes a monthly allowance over 12 months from purchase. Neither is a freely spendable annual pool. Eligible new Nomad users can also consider the free trial: 1GB for three days in 76 listed destinations, through the app without a credit card.
