Check compatibility before buying. Start with Apple’s official iPhone eSIM setup guide and the manufacturer’s specifications for each Android phone. A physical SIM slot does not prove that a tablet also supports eSIM. The device must also be network-unlocked.

One Nomad 50GB plan divided by four works out to €7.78 per person after rounding, but that is just a way to split the bill. It does not create four eSIMs or four separate allowances. Family Data Usage: Build a Budget for Your Own Trip
There is no reliable single allowance for every family. Start with each person’s recent mobile usage and add the activities you expect on holiday. The figures below are planning examples for 14 days, not measured averages or a promise that a plan will last.

Netflix’s own data guide puts HD streaming at up to 3GB per hour per device, compared with up to 0.3GB on its Low setting. Two children watching an hour each can therefore use up to 6GB in a day at HD quality. Downloads made on accommodation Wi-Fi can change the budget far more than a small difference in price per GB.
A fixed 50GB package is a total trip allowance. A plan offering 5GB per day resets its high-speed allowance daily; it does not give you one freely movable 35GB pool for a week. Count the hotspot devices as well as the phone when checking a daily fair-use limit.

Hotspot Strategy for Families
One hotspot works while the devices stay close to the host phone, the battery lasts and the mobile connection is usable. Give anyone who will leave that group an independent connection. Keep a power bank for long days, and test the actual phones and tablets together before departure.
Option A: One Parent’s Hotspot
Install the plan on the phone that will provide the hotspot, then join it from the tablets’ Wi-Fi settings. Do not scan the same eSIM QR code into several phones. The maximum number of connected devices depends on the phone and carrier, and all of them compete for the same connection.

Holafly’s hotspot allowance is shared. Two tablets do not each receive 1GB a day from one Holafly phone. They share that daily amount with any other tethered devices. The phone’s unlimited data does not turn the tablets into unlimited users. Holafly’s monthly subscriptions are separate products with their own terms.
Option B: Two Adult Connections or an Eligible Shared Plan
I prefer two independent adult connections when one person might collect food, return to the hotel or take a child elsewhere. A shared plan can also provide independent connections on compatible phones, but its data balance is shared: one person’s large download affects everyone.
Europe: two adults and two tablets
Parent A has Nomad 20GB for €24.02; Parent B has 10GB for €20.46. Total: €44.48. Both plans last 30 days, but their 30GB combined allowance remains split between two phones.
Europe: four independent phones
Four Nomad 10GB plans cost €81.84 before coupons. Each person has 10GB. Saily Europe 10GB at €31.99 is a much smaller shared allowance, so it is not a like-for-like data replacement.
Global: two heavy phone users
Two Holafly Global seven-day plans cost €85. Each phone has its own 1GB/day hotspot allowance for nearby devices. This suits heavy use on the adults’ phones better than hours of tablet streaming.

This Nomad video walks through installation on Android. Follow the instructions supplied with the actual plan and confirm the exact phone model is compatible. Installation time varies, so complete the setup on a stable connection before travel.
Select the travel eSIM for mobile data and follow its roaming instructions. A shared Saily plan ends when its common balance is used up or its validity expires. Do not assume automatic top-ups will keep a shared plan running; check the app’s current options and arrange the next eligible package in time.
