Best eSIM for Bali 2026: 5 Plans, Networks and Island Trips

The reason to start with Nomad eSIM is the combination of a named network and a manageable fixed allowance. The checked Sapphire 10GB package lists Telkomsel, 4G, hotspot and add-ons. That makes $19 over 30 days a straightforward option for bookings, messaging and navigation when you do not want to manage a daily unlimited threshold.

This is not the cheapest 10GB package here, nor the only option with Telkomsel. Ubigi costs $16 for 10GB, while Saily and Airalo also publish Telkomsel access. Nomad eSIM earns this position for the overall fixed-plan fit, including 45-day larger tiers, rather than a claim that other brands cannot work on the islands.

Install before travel and use the plan within its purchase window: the checked Nomad eSIM products start on first destination-network connection, or automatically after 60 days. The Jade unlimited product is a separate decision: it lists Telkomsel with 4G/5G, but only the first 2GB each day is at normal speed. The reduced 512kbps connection is not a good substitute for a large upload allowance. The product also states no add-ons and is non-refundable, so choose the duration carefully.

Ubigi is the strongest starting point here for someone who wants a larger fixed bucket without buying unlimited phone data. Its 25GB, 30-day package costs $28, and the 10GB alternative costs $16. The current Indonesia products checked list Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison. That is the published access to assess, rather than the older Indosat plus XLSmart description.

The practical advantage is flexibility within a fixed allowance: a busy upload day uses more of the bucket, rather than immediately running into a small daily high-speed limit. It is still a finite 25GB, and a laptop can use it quickly. The reusable profile is useful when you buy another supported destination later. Smartstart begins validity in a covered destination; activate within six months of purchase. Ubigi also supports in-app top-ups without remaining data or Wi-Fi.

The reduced speed belongs to Ubigi’s unlimited product, not its fixed 25GB package. A fixed plan running out of data does not automatically become an unlimited 2Mbps plan. Also, do not interpret the absence of Telkomsel as proof of no reception in Nusa Penida or the Gilis. Check your overnight locations and the permitted network with the provider. I have not personally tested Ubigi.

Holafly suits a phone-led holiday where you prefer to buy the number of days you need and stop checking a fixed data balance. Its Bali page names XL and Telkomsel, and says the plan can also be used elsewhere in Indonesia. My personal Holafly experience in Portugal, Turkey and Thailand informs the usability discussion, not a promise about any Balinese hotel.

The important limit is sharing. This Bali product publishes 1GB of hotspot data per day. That can help with an occasional laptop task, but it is a poor basis for several daily video calls. Unlimited phone data also remains subject to the local operator’s fair-use policy; the page does not publish a precise high-speed daily threshold.

There is also a product change worth checking if you bought before: Holafly’s newer reuse guidance says purchases from 30 September 2026 can support added days and destinations on the existing profile, subject to exceptions. Older profiles can differ. Keep the eSIM installed and follow your purchase instructions instead of assuming deletion and reinstallation will work.

Saily now explicitly names Telkomsel for Indonesia, so it should no longer be described as an undisclosed-network option. Its 10GB, 30-day package costs $21.99, with hotspot using that allowance. The app adds web protection, ad blocking and virtual-location features, which may appeal if you want those controls alongside your travel data.

The checked Indonesia unlimited plan allows 5GB/day at normal speed, then up to 1Mbps. That is more daily high-speed data than Airalo’s 3GB and Nomad eSIM’s 2GB, although the packages have different prices and durations. Compare the actual unlimited package before treating it as a remote-work plan. Sharing permission does not remove the high-speed allowance or the acceptable-use restrictions. Those restrictions matter even where the product page describes hotspot as unrestricted. Saily’s security features also should not be treated as a blanket VPN guarantee for unrelated hotel Wi-Fi traffic.

Saily’s current activation window is 180 days, after which an unused plan activates automatically. On arrival, the installed eSIM needs to be enabled with roaming as instructed. The phone-number feature needs a separate explanation: Saily advertises a separately purchased US number with calls/text service, not an included Indonesian +62 mobile number. Do not buy the data plan expecting a local number for ordinary calls or account verification. I have not personally tested Saily. Airalo is worth comparing when the duration matters as much as the data amount. A 10GB package costs $19 for seven days or $21 for 30 days. Its three-day unlimited option is $11, making it an interesting short-stay alternative if you understand the daily speed limit.

The current Indonesia network dialog lists Hutchinson, Indosat and Telkomsel. The product details explicitly include Bali, Java, Lombok and the Gili Islands. That corrects the old claim that Airalo is a mainland-only choice without Telkomsel. It still does not tell you what signal you will receive inside a particular room or during a sea crossing.

The checked Airalo package gives you 365 days after purchase to begin use, with validity starting on a supported-network connection. Top-ups are useful, but check availability on your installed profile and whether an optional renewal is enabled. A regional Asia product is a different package: verify every destination and its network list rather than carrying the Indonesia details across. Our Asia comparison covers that decision.
