Its current Indonesia offer is $29.99 for 30GB over 30 days, with hotspot sharing and named local partners. The smaller 10GB, 30-day option is $18. The right choice changes with the trip. A week between Seminyak and Ubud, laptop work from Canggu, a Nusa Penida overnight stay and a fast boat to the Gilis do not create the same connectivity needs. A bigger data allowance cannot fix a weak signal at your accommodation, and a 5G badge is not a promise of 5G throughout the journey.

Best eSIM for Bali 2026: six providers in detail
My order weighs the selected allowance, validity, sharing rules and total cost against a Bali itinerary. Jetpac leads for a larger fixed bucket and its eligible app fallback, while Ubigi remains cheaper at 10GB / 30 days. I would choose differently for a creator who needs confirmed TikTok access or a laptop-heavy working stay. None of these positions comes from measured Bali speeds.
Jetpac: a generous data bucket, with the essentials kept in view
The moment I would plan around is the transfer day: leaving a villa in Ubud, finding the harbour pickup and keeping the next accommodation’s details handy. You may use very little data on some days and much more on others. Jetpac’s 30GB, 30-day Indonesia package at $29.99 gives you a single allowance to spread across that trip. Hotspot is allowed on a compatible phone, with no separate tethering quota. Laptop use still comes out of those 30GB.
That flexibility is why I put it first here. It is a stronger fit for uneven use than choosing a daily unlimited plan merely because of the label. The selected 30GB and seven-day unlimited network drawers list 3, INDOSAT and TELKOMSEL. Those labels do not mean three independent coverage backups, and they do not guarantee a connection on every part of Nusa Penida or the Gilis. The current drawer and an older help table also differ on carrier-specific 5G, so I would not buy it for a promised Telkomsel 5G connection.
The useful Bali angle: essential apps after the main allowance runs out
Jetpac advertises continued access to WhatsApp chat, Grab, Uber and Google Maps navigation when regular data is exhausted on eligible purchases of 3GB or more. In practical terms, that could help with a message to your host or checking a pickup while you arrange another data pack. It is a limited app benefit, not unrestricted internet: WhatsApp voice and video calls are not included in that fallback, rides are not free, and cellular reception is still needed. Jetpac does not clearly promise indefinite access after expiry. I would save tickets, the harbour meeting point and offline maps anyway.

What I would check before choosing Jetpac
- Unlimited is a different product. Seven days costs $25.99 and 30 days costs $65.99. The first 3GB per 24-hour cycle is at standard network speeds, followed by up to 1Mbps. Sharing uses that same policy. A fixed 30GB package may suit a few larger upload days better.
- TikTok needs a specific check. Jetpac’s help notice, last updated 15 November 2024 and still published when checked, lists Indonesia among destinations where TikTok is unavailable. I have not tested that restriction in Bali. If posting to TikTok is central to the trip, get current confirmation from support before paying.
- Install and activate deliberately. Install over reliable internet, then enable the travel line and data roaming as instructed on arrival. An unactivated pack has a three-month window. The reusable eSIM can take another destination pack later; the Indonesia purchase does not include every country Jetpac sells.
- Keep calls separate from data. The data pack does not include an Indonesian number or SMS. Optional voice packs are separate in-app purchases, not an included local mobile line.
- Flight extras have conditions. SmartDelay requires registration at least 24 hours before departure. The published benefit covers up to two flights per pack and one companion; a qualifying airline-reported delay of at least one hour can trigger a LoungeKey voucher. Participating-lounge availability and terms apply. It is not automatic lounge entry with every ticket.
For a connection problem, contact support and keep the purchase details before deleting the eSIM. The product’s linked refund documents are not fully consistent, so I would ask which terms apply to the purchase rather than treat the marketing as an unconditional change-of-mind refund. Jetpac’s published terms make the money-back provision conditional on specified problems and troubleshooting.
I have not personally tested Jetpac in Bali. This recommendation is based on the official package details above and the itinerary needs they address. Nomad eSIM: Fixed data with add-ons
Nomad eSIM remains a straightforward alternative if you prefer a smaller fixed package. The selected Jade 10GB / 30-day plan costs $19, names XLSMART and Telkomsel, lists 5G, and allows hotspot and add-ons. This is a change from the older Sapphire, Telkomsel-only 4G package described in the previous review.
At the same 10GB and 30 days, Ubigi is $16 and Jetpac is $18 before coupons. Nomad’s appeal is the package configuration and app experience, not exclusive access to Telkomsel. Its larger fixed tiers are now 20GB for $29 and 50GB for $39, both valid for 30 days. I would compare 50GB with unlimited if I expected occasional large uploads.

Install before travel and use the plan within its purchase window: the selected Nomad eSIM products start on first destination-network connection, or automatically after 60 days. Both checked Jade unlimited durations name XLSMART / Telkomsel and 4G/5G, but only the first 2GB each day is at normal speed, followed by 512Kbps. They allow sharing but have no add-ons and are nonrefundable. Choose the duration carefully; a larger fixed allowance is a different product.

Ubigi: Lowest compared 10GB / 30-day base price
Ubigi is the value alternative I would check for a modest fixed allowance: 10GB for 30 days costs $16, below the other matching packages in this comparison. Its 25GB / 30-day option is $28. The current Indonesia product pages name Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) and show 5G availability. That is the published access to assess, rather than assuming that a roaming profile can use every local network.
The practical advantage is flexibility within a fixed allowance: a busy upload day uses more of the bucket, rather than immediately running into a small daily high-speed limit. It is still a finite 25GB, and a laptop can use it quickly. The reusable profile is useful when you buy another supported destination later. Smartstart begins validity in a covered destination; activate within six months of purchase. Ubigi also supports in-app top-ups without remaining data or Wi-Fi.

The reduced speed belongs to Ubigi’s unlimited product, not its fixed 25GB package. A fixed plan running out of data does not automatically become an unlimited 2Mbps plan. Also, do not interpret the absence of Telkomsel as proof of no reception in Nusa Penida or the Gilis. Check your overnight locations and the permitted network with the provider. I have not personally tested Ubigi.

Holafly: Flexible unlimited phone data
Holafly suits a phone-led holiday where you prefer to buy the number of days you need and stop checking a fixed data balance. Its Bali page names XL and Telkomsel, and says the plan can also be used elsewhere in Indonesia. My personal Holafly experience in Portugal, Turkey and Thailand informs the usability discussion, not a promise about any Balinese hotel.
The important limit is sharing. This Bali product publishes 1GB of hotspot data per day. That can help with an occasional laptop task, but it is a poor basis for several daily video calls. Unlimited phone data also remains subject to the local operator’s fair-use policy; the page does not publish a precise high-speed daily threshold.

There is also a product change worth checking if you bought before: Holafly’s newer reuse guidance says purchases from 30 September 2026 can support added days and destinations on the existing profile, subject to exceptions. Older profiles can differ. Keep the eSIM installed and follow your purchase instructions instead of assuming deletion and reinstallation will work.

Saily: Larger daily high-speed unlimited allowance
Saily now explicitly names Telkomsel for Indonesia, so it should no longer be described as an undisclosed-network option. Its 10GB, 30-day package costs $21.99, with hotspot using that allowance. The app adds web protection, ad blocking and virtual-location features, which may appeal if you want those controls alongside your travel data.
The selected Indonesia unlimited plan allows 5GB/day at normal speed, then up to 1Mbps. That is more daily high-speed data than Jetpac’s or Airalo’s 3GB and Nomad eSIM’s 2GB, although the packages have different prices and durations. Compare the actual unlimited package before treating it as a remote-work plan. Sharing permission does not remove the high-speed allowance or the acceptable-use restrictions. Those restrictions matter even where the product page describes hotspot as unrestricted. Saily’s security features also should not be treated as a blanket VPN guarantee for unrelated hotel Wi-Fi traffic.

Saily’s current activation window is 180 days, after which an unused plan activates automatically. On arrival, the installed eSIM needs to be enabled with roaming as instructed. The phone-number feature needs a separate explanation: Saily advertises a separately purchased US number with calls/text service, not an included Indonesian +62 mobile number. Do not buy the data plan expecting a local number for ordinary calls or account verification. I have not personally tested Saily. Airalo: Short-duration and top-up flexibility
Airalo is worth comparing when the duration matters as much as the data amount. A 10GB package costs $19 for seven days or $21 for 30 days. Its three-day unlimited option is $11, making it an interesting short-stay alternative if you understand the daily speed limit.
The current Indonesia package list names INDOSAT, Telkomsel and H3G CP, with 5G shown where available. The product details explicitly include Bali, Java, Lombok and the Gili Islands. That corrects the old claim that Airalo is a mainland-only choice without Telkomsel. It still does not tell you what signal you will receive inside a particular room or during a sea crossing.

The selected Airalo package gives you 365 days after purchase to begin use, with validity starting on a supported-network connection. Top-ups are useful, but check availability on your installed profile and whether an optional renewal is enabled. Indonesia’s three main mobile groups: what the names mean
Telkomsel, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and XLSmart are the main groups relevant to this comparison. XLSmart was formed in April 2025 from XL Axiata, Smartfren and Smart Telecom. Older brand names can remain in an eSIM’s product details. Preserve the actual published network list when checking a plan: a corporate merger does not automatically grant your profile access to all networks in the group.

Network access is a useful filter, but it is not a speed test. Phone bands, indoor signal, congestion, roaming arrangements and the exact location all affect the result. Two eSIM brands using the same underlying network are not necessarily two independent coverage backups.

Lombok and the Gili Islands: separate the island stay from the crossing
The Gilis are beside Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, even though travellers often add them to a Bali holiday. An Indonesia package can include this part of the trip, but destination inclusion is not a promise of continuous reception.
I would not assign Gili Air a better signal score than Trawangan, or call Meno “offline”, without current measurements. Ask your accommodation about the networks that work there and compare that answer with your selected product. Airalo explicitly lists the Gilis in its Indonesia coverage description; the other providers’ Indonesia coverage and published partners should still be checked against your exact stops.
The fast boat is a separate case. A land eSIM is not a maritime service. Arrange your arrival pickup, save tickets and keep enough battery before leaving reliable internet. The same practical preparation applies to a Lombok road trip or a Rinjani excursion, where a country-level coverage label cannot establish reception along a trail.
Indonesia’s IMEI rule: foreign roaming versus a local SIM or eSIM
Bali’s Ngurah Rai Customs guidance says inbound roamers using foreign service do not need IMEI registration. For foreign tourists using Indonesian local service, Customs describes an operator registration process for up to 90 days. Confirm longer-stay requirements with the operator and Customs for your device and circumstances.
Locally issued digital products do exist: Telkomsel offers a Tourist Prepaid eSIM. If you need an Indonesian number, that category is worth checking, including passport and IMEI validation. It is a different purchase from the data-only roaming packages compared above. Do not assume that “eSIM” or “data only” automatically means exempt.
Tips for using an eSIM in Bali
- Check the exact handset. It must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Confirm the regional model, not just the phone family.
- Install before travel using reliable internet. Keep the provider’s instructions available offline. Installation and the start of validity are not always the same event.
- On arrival, select the travel eSIM for mobile data. Enable roaming on that eSIM when instructed. Disable home-line data roaming and automatic data switching if you want to avoid accidental home data use.
