Landing in Dhaka with working data makes the first few decisions easier: find your pickup, message the people waiting for you and open an address without hunting for Wi-Fi. A longer visit raises a different question. Will you spend most days with family, work from a laptop, travel towards Sylhet or Cox’s Bazar, or need a Bangladeshi number that people can call?
The best eSIM for Bangladesh is the one that fits those plans. I would decide whether I need data alone or a local number, check the network at my important stops, and only then compare the price. Buying the largest allowance does not solve all three questions.
This guide compares five travel options from our affiliate roster, with current package examples and the conditions that can change the purchase. It also explains when a local SIM deserves a closer look. If Bangladesh is one part of a longer trip, start with our Asia eSIM guide and check each country’s inclusion before paying.
Where I would start
Compare MobiMatter’s eSIMGo package first for a modest fixed-data budget. Airalo offers another familiar way to manage a short stay; Nomad brings a different named network into the comparison. Holafly suits travelers choosing by trip length, while Orange World is worth investigating when ordinary calls matter. A local number is a separate decision.
A note from André: I am a Brazilian living in Belgium and the founder of André On Digital. My travel-eSIM experience, including using Holafly in Thailand, informs the practical questions I ask about setup, sharing and support.
I have not tested these packages on the ground in Bangladesh. This guide uses current official product information and my assessment of how the conditions affect a trip. The scenic images are editorial illustrations. Read more about André On Digital.
Compare five Bangladesh eSIM options
The first three examples use the same allowance and validity. The last two answer different needs, so their prices should not be treated as a like-for-like ranking. All figures are before reader discounts.
| Provider and exact example | USD | Published network | Reader code |
|---|---|---|---|
| MobiMatter eSIMGo Bangladesh 10 GB / 30 days | US$11.99 | Grameenphone 4G | No personal code documented |
| Airalo Bangladesh 10 GB / 30 days | US$17.50 | GrameenPhone 4G | ANDRE15: 15% on eligible plans |
| Nomad eSIM Bangladesh 10 GB / 30 days | US$20 | Banglalink 4G | ANDRE15: 15% on eligible plans |
| Holafly Bangladesh Unlimited phone data / 7 days | US$27.50 | GrameenPhone; 5G/4G where available | ANDREONDIGITAL: 5% on eligible plans |
| eSIM.net Orange World 20 GB / 30 days | US$28 | Local host not disclosed; 4G/LTE listed | ANDRE5: 5% on eligible plans |
Current product sources: eSIMGo Bangladesh, Airalo, Nomad eSIM, Holafly and Orange World. The codes come from our documented provider offers. Redemption has not been purchase-tested for these packages; checkout determines eligibility and the final amount.
Read the full product rules below before choosing. Holafly limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB per day and applies phone-data fair use. A plan with calls may still provide a foreign number. The operator behind a travel brand also matters when checking reception at your accommodation.

1. MobiMatter: good value on Grameenphone with eSIMGo
MobiMatter makes sense when you want a known data allowance for Bangladesh and prefer to keep the purchase cost low. Our pick from its marketplace is eSIMGo Bangladesh. Select that supplier carefully: MobiMatter sells several products for the same destination, and their networks, validity and refill rules can differ.
| Data | Validity | Price in USD |
|---|---|---|
| 2 GB | 15 days | $3.99 |
| 5 GB | 30 days | $6.49 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | $11.99 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | $17.99 |
These are the listed prices in the official Bangladesh catalogue, before any future price changes.
The exact eSIMGo product lists Grameenphone 4G, hotspot sharing and top-ups. Validity starts with first data use, and an unused eSIM expires two months after purchase. It is data only, without a phone number. The supplier specifies no daily data limit or throttling within the purchased allowance; actual speeds still depend on the connection.
A shared allowance is useful when your days look different: a quiet day answering messages can leave more data for a later afternoon using maps or a laptop. Choose the size around your expected total use, and save large downloads for Wi-Fi. A refill option is helpful if your plans change, although you should check the price of the additional package before buying it.
Adding India? The separate TSimTech Asia 15 Countries plan lists 10 GB for 30 days at $11.49, includes Bangladesh and India, and names Grameenphone and Banglalink at 4G in Bangladesh. It allows hotspot use but has no top-up. Singapore appears as IP routing, not as a covered destination. Check the full country list against every stop.
Read our MobiMatter review for the marketplace buying process and the details worth checking before payment.

2. Airalo: GrameenPhone data with explicit unlimited limits
Airalo gives you a useful decision between buying a defined allowance and paying for daily high-speed data. Its Bangladesh Fatafati packages list GrameenPhone 4G. That named network is helpful when comparing providers, although it cannot predict reception inside your hotel or along every road.
Selected base prices checked on 14 October 2026:
| Data | Validity | USD |
|---|---|---|
| 3 GB | 7 days | $8.00 |
| 5 GB | 30 days | $11.00 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | $17.50 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | $27.50 |
| Unlimited | 7 days | $27.00 |
| Unlimited | 30 days | $73.50 |
The official Bangladesh package details specify first-use activation, compatible top-ups and data-only service. Install before departure; start using the package when you reach its coverage area. There is no included local number or traditional calling allowance.
For unlimited packages, Airalo’s fair-use policy allows 3 GB of high-speed data per 24 hours, then 1 Mbps until the next reset. Tethering has no separate cap, but shares that allowance. Hotspot compatibility also depends on your device and network.
For a visit spent mainly messaging, navigating and checking reservations, start by estimating the whole trip’s usage. A fixed package avoids paying for a daily allowance you may barely touch. Choose unlimited when repeated uploads or video calls make a single trip total harder to manage.
Watch validity as closely as gigabytes. The smaller package above is a week-long option, so it cannot cover a month simply because some data remains. For laptop use, schedule large backups on trusted Wi-Fi. Our Airalo review gives broader product context; this recommendation uses Bangladesh’s current package terms.
How Airalo works
Airalo explains how its service works. The video provides general context; the Bangladesh allowance, network and validity are the ones listed above.
3. Nomad eSIM: a larger fixed allowance on Banglalink
Nomad eSIM is a practical comparison when you want enough data for a longer visit without choosing unlimited. Its current Bangladesh plans specify Banglalink 4G. This gives you a different named network from Airalo, but choosing a different provider is not evidence of better reception at your particular destination.
Base prices checked on 14 October 2026:
| Data | Validity | USD |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | $6.00 |
| 3 GB | 30 days | $11.00 |
| 5 GB | 30 days | $14.00 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | $20.00 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | $25.00 |
| 50 GB | 30 days | $49.00 |
The Bangladesh plan details confirm hotspot support and compatible add-ons. Activation starts with a supported network connection, or automatically after 60 days from purchase. The current offers are fixed-data packages; do not read the page’s generic 5G headings as a promise for these 4G plans.
The phone-number guidance distinguishes data service from calling plans. These Bangladesh packages are data only, so use an existing messaging account for internet calls and retain a separate line if you need ordinary calls or SMS.
The strongest buying argument is the step up from a medium allowance to a larger one. Compare the extra cost with your likely use before automatically choosing the smallest bundle. A little headroom can be convenient when family photos, cloud syncing or laptop updates compete with everyday phone use.
For a weekend mainly spent on Wi-Fi, that headroom may be unnecessary. For a month of travel, check your phone’s recent mobile-data history and remember that tethered devices consume the same balance. Buy closer to departure if your dates are uncertain, and review add-on options before running low. Our Nomad eSIM review explains the wider service.

Follow Nomad's iPhone installation walkthrough, then use the activation instructions supplied with your Bangladesh package.
4. Holafly: unlimited phone data for a chosen trip length

Holafly suits travelers who would rather choose the number of days than estimate a trip’s total gigabytes. The Bangladesh product lists GrameenPhone and advertises 5G where available, alongside 4G/LTE. Actual reception and speed still depend on location, device and the local network.
Selected unlimited prices checked on 14 October 2026:
| Validity | USD |
|---|---|
| 3 days | $11.90 |
| 7 days | $27.50 |
| 14 days | $48.90 |
| 30 days | $76.50 |
The official destination page offers durations from 1 to 90 days. Validity starts on connection to a supported network. The plan is data only, without a local number, and hotspot sharing is limited to 1 GB per day.
Unlimited does not guarantee uninterrupted full speed. Holafly’s fair-use explanation allows temporary operator slowdowns, with normal speed returning the following day. A numerical Bangladesh high-speed threshold is not disclosed in the reviewed terms.
For purchases from 30 September 2026, current reuse guidance lets you keep the eSIM installed and add days or another trip. Bangladesh is outside the listed exceptions. Keep that profile rather than deleting it after travel.
The custom duration is especially useful when your itinerary falls between standard weekly bundles. Match the purchase to your arrival time and last day needing mobile service, while allowing for a realistic departure delay.
Consider who will actually use the connection. For one person browsing and calling through apps, avoiding a running gigabyte balance can simplify the trip. For a couple sharing one phone or a laptop that downloads large files, the hotspot allowance becomes the more important constraint. Compare a fixed-data alternative before paying for unlimited handset use. Our Holafly review covers the broader product experience.
Install Holafly eSIM with the iPhone app
Holafly demonstrates installation through its iPhone app. Check the current instructions for your device and keep Bangladesh's sharing limit in mind.
5. eSIM.net: Orange World for data, calls and a French number
eSIM.net earns its place for a different reason from the cheaper data packages. Choose Orange World if a small allowance of conventional calls and SMS would be useful alongside your internet access. Think about whom you expect to contact before paying extra for those features: app conversations alone may not justify them.
| Data | Validity | Price in USD |
|---|---|---|
| 20 GB | 30 days | $28 |
The price comes from the exact Orange World offer. Its destination list includes Bangladesh and India, which can suit a trip covering both. Nepal and Sri Lanka are not listed, so this is not a blanket South Asia package.
The Bangladesh product card includes 15 international call minutes, 50 SMS, hotspot support and a French +33 mobile number. It advertises 4G/LTE without identifying the Bangladesh host network. That foreign number is not a Bangladeshi +880 line, and the offer does not establish eligibility for local banking or account verification.
For practical planning, treat the included minutes as a small calling reserve. If you expect lengthy phone conversations, work out a separate calling solution before departure. People contacting your French number should check their own international rates. Likewise, having SMS included does not guarantee that a particular app or business will accept the number.
Activation needs attention on a regional itinerary. The 30-day period begins at first use on a supported network, including in a covered home or transit country. The official refill guidance says Orange World normally cannot be topped up or extended; you would buy a new eSIM.
That makes this a better fit for a defined itinerary than an open-ended stay. Our eSIM.net review explains how to distinguish its different travel products before checkout.
A backup phone line when travel plans go wrong
This eSIM.net short discusses a backup calling line during travel disruptions. It is general provider context, not an Orange World setup tutorial or a guarantee that a particular service accepts its French number.
Decide whether you need data or a Bangladeshi number
Start with the conversations you expect to have. If relatives, colleagues and your accommodation can reach you through messaging apps, a data plan may cover most of your needs. If someone must call an ordinary local number, or a service asks for a local SMS code, check the number and calling features separately. Mobile data alone does not supply a +880 line.
Grameenphone offers its Tourist SIM as physical SIM or eSIM, using a valid passport and visa. Published bundles include 30 GB, 250 local minutes and 100 local SMS for BDT 1,499 over 15 days; or 40 GB, 400 minutes and 150 SMS for BDT 1,999 over 30 days. These are local-currency package prices. Confirm setup and any migration fee with GP.
Apple lists Grameenphone, Robi and Banglalink as Bangladesh carriers supporting prepaid eSIM activation for international travelers. That is a useful starting point, but each operator must confirm its current offer and visitor procedure. Do not transfer GP’s bundle conditions to the other two.
Keep the distinction in mind when comparing products from a travel seller. A plan can include calls but issue a number from another country. Our eSIM.net review explains why the underlying product matters. For a return visit, also ask how long the local number remains yours before using it for accounts you expect to keep.
Choose the local network behind the travel plan
The name on the app is not necessarily the operator carrying your data. For example, Airalo’s Bangladesh offer names Grameenphone, while Nomad eSIM names Banglalink. A different brand can therefore be a different network choice, rather than simply a different checkout screen.
Check your most important locations before deciding. For a visit to relatives, ask about reception inside their home. For a work trip, ask about the building where you will actually join calls. If a hotel reports poor service on one operator, that is a reason to investigate the alternative; it is not evidence of a nationwide winner.
Grameenphone describes 5G in selected areas of divisional cities and says incoming roaming also depends on permission from the network providing the roaming line. A carrier’s 5G launch does not automatically upgrade every travel package using that carrier. Use the technology specified for the purchased offer, then check local availability.
For a second connection, compare the underlying hosts before paying twice. Two apps may still rely on the same operator at your destination. Our Airalo review and Nomad eSIM review provide background on managing those services. The Bangladesh specifications above are the relevant ones for this trip.

Plan for the kind of stay you are making
A short meeting in Dhaka, a family visit with several overnight stops and a holiday continuing into another country need different data plans. Write down the dates when mobile data will matter, including travel days. Then identify any occasion when someone needs to call you rather than send an app message.
If you prefer buying locally, Dhaka airport lists SIM counters for arriving passengers, including Grameenphone, Robi and Banglalink. Its arrival FAQ places SIM booths after customs near Green Channel 01. These pages confirm the option, without guaranteeing a particular eSIM, opening hour or registration time.
For stays beyond Dhaka, such as Sylhet, Chattogram or Cox’s Bazar, ask about the exact accommodation and planned stops. Save addresses, transfer details and booking references before leaving a working connection. If a boat trip or another activity will take you away from places where you have checked reception, arrange how to meet or contact your host without relying on a live location update.
For a wider trip, compare the India, Sri Lanka or Nepal eSIM guide against the package’s actual destination list. The word Asia does not tell you which countries are included. Our Asia eSIM comparison helps with that choice. If China is another stop, consult the China guide for that leg’s network and app-access considerations.

Match the allowance to the full stay, not just the headline price
Check duration before dividing price by gigabytes. A large allowance that expires before your return flight can cost more than a smaller package lasting the whole visit. Compare the price of completing the trip, including any second purchase, rather than choosing the lowest opening price.
Use your own phone’s data history to make the first estimate. For example, if you normally use 4 GB during a week away from Wi-Fi, two similar weeks suggest 8 GB before adding a reserve. A planned laptop session or photo upload changes that estimate. This is a budgeting example, not a claim about typical consumption in Bangladesh.
Family visits can also mean several phones with different needs. One person may need maps and messages while another uploads video. Sharing can work when the travelers stay together and the package permits it, but the person carrying the hotspot becomes the connection for everyone else. Our family eSIM guide helps you compare shared and separate plans.
Check three different limits: total data, any daily high-speed allowance and the amount that can be shared. Unlimited phone data does not answer all three questions. If you expect to add data later, check the exact product’s refill rules in our MobiMatter review and the provider details above.
Prepare the phone and keep your important numbers reachable
- Check the device before paying. Verify the exact model, regional variant, eSIM support and carrier-unlock status with our compatible-phone guide. Being able to store several profiles does not mean they can all stay active together.
- Read the activation rule. Save the installation instructions while online. Buying, downloading and starting the paid validity can be different events; follow the rule for the actual package.
- Label and select your lines. Give the travel profile a recognizable name, select it for mobile data and follow its roaming instructions. Check home-line data roaming and automatic data switching separately.
- Test what you need. With Wi-Fi off, open a webpage and send a message. Test the laptop separately if you intend to share data. Do this while you still have access to support.
For a local GP eSIM, its setup instructions include biometric verification and QR activation. For home-number access, read our bank-text guide and Wi-Fi Calling guide before departure. If the operator raises handset registration, use the official BTRC NEIR portal; that is a separate check from your data allowance.

How I made this Bangladesh shortlist
I screened the 19 providers in our affiliate roster and selected five with a useful, documented difference for this destination. The comparison considered the cost of the full stay, data allowance, expiry, named local networks, activation, hotspot, refill options and calling features. It is a shortlist of the providers we work with, not a claim to cover every seller.
The selection gives readers different purchase paths: lower fixed-data cost, a familiar app with several durations, another named host network, day-based unlimited use, and data with a limited voice service. The order is an editorial starting point, not a ranking from speed tests.
I used the exact Bangladesh product wherever available and kept uncertain details explicit. A carrier’s general 5G coverage does not prove that every roaming package can use it. A regional offer also needs its own country list and refill rules. No Bangladesh speed measurements, support response times or firsthand performance scores have been invented.
For your own comparison, write down the travel dates and the places where a connection matters most. Ask about reception there, then check the complete package cost and its expiry. Those checks make the shortlist useful for a specific trip rather than treating the first row as a universal winner.
Bangladesh eSIM questions
Which eSIM should I choose for a Bangladesh visit?
Start with the host network and the number of days you need, then compare an allowance large enough for the visit. Local calling, hotspot and refills can change the decision. The order in this guide reflects those published conditions; it is not a speed ranking from tests around Bangladesh. Updated October 2026.
Can a tourist buy a local Grameenphone eSIM?
Yes. GP explicitly includes eSIM in its Tourist SIM offer. Confirm the outlet’s process for your device and documents. Updated October 2026.
Can I keep my GP Tourist SIM number indefinitely?
GP says Tourist SIMs enter recycling 30 days after activation, with earlier deactivation when the visa expires. Do not assume a refill preserves the number. Updated October 2026.
Does every Bangladesh travel eSIM include a +880 number?
No. Check whether the purchased plan is data-only or includes ordinary calls and SMS, then check the country code of any supplied number. A foreign number is not a local Bangladeshi line. If receiving a local callback is essential, choose the number service deliberately rather than assuming data provides it. Updated October 2026.
Can I buy a SIM after arriving at Dhaka airport?
Yes. The airport’s official services page lists operator counters for purchasing and activating SIM cards. Confirm the particular tourist package and eSIM availability with the operator. Save your pickup information in advance so completing registration is not the only way to find your driver or host. Updated October 2026.
Is Grameenphone always better than Banglalink or Robi?
There is no basis here for a winner at every address. Ask about reception at the home, hotel or workplace you will use, then check the exact plan’s host network. National subscriber counts and a carrier’s marketing claims cannot establish the signal inside a particular building or along your whole route. Updated October 2026.
Will a 5G phone automatically get 5G in Bangladesh?
No. You need compatible equipment, local coverage and a plan that permits the relevant access. GP says incoming 5G roaming also requires permission from the network providing the roaming line. Check the purchased package’s technology rather than assuming a local rollout changes a plan sold with 4G access. Updated October 2026.
Will an Asia eSIM also cover Bangladesh?
Only if Bangladesh appears in that product’s country list. Check every onward stop too, including any connection where you intend to use data. Our Asia guide compares the regional approach; our international guide is useful for trips spanning more than one region. A regional name is not the coverage list. Updated October 2026.
How much data should I buy for two weeks?
Use two weeks of your own recent mobile usage as a starting point, then adjust for uploads, calls and shared devices. Check that the package lasts through the final travel day. A larger data allowance does not necessarily mean a longer validity period, and choosing unlimited data does not settle the hotspot or high-speed limits. Updated October 2026.
Can I share the eSIM with a laptop or another phone?
Check the exact package’s hotspot allowance and whether shared traffic uses the same high-speed budget. A plan described as unlimited can still restrict sharing. Our guide to connecting several travelers helps with that decision. Test the phone’s own connection before troubleshooting the laptop or second phone. Updated October 2026.
Does buying a local number automatically give me bKash?
No. bKash describes a separate account-opening and identity-verification process. Ask it which route and documents apply to you before relying on a new account. Internet access, a local number and approval for a payment service are separate things; a travel data purchase does not combine them. Updated October 2026.
Can I keep receiving bank verification texts?
That depends on your home line, carrier and bank. The travel data plan does not take over your existing number. Keep the required line available, check roaming charges and verify the phone’s dual-SIM settings with our bank-text guide. Do not assume that every bank message will arrive abroad. Updated October 2026.
Should I install the eSIM as soon as I buy it?
Read the activation instructions first. Some packages distinguish installation from the first connection; others can start validity earlier or have a purchase deadline. Plan the setup for a time when reliable internet and support are available. Save the instructions, and keep the installed profile unless the provider tells you otherwise. Updated October 2026.
Is NEIR registration the same as activating an eSIM?
No. The BTRC NEIR portal concerns handset identity and registration. It does not replace your provider’s plan-activation instructions. If you are asked to check a device or expect a longer stay, confirm the applicable requirements with the operator and BTRC rather than applying an unsourced deadline to every visitor. Updated October 2026.

Final verdict: buy for the visit you are actually making
For a straightforward holiday or family visit, I would begin with MobiMatter’s eSIMGo Bangladesh. Its fixed-data pricing gives you a useful starting point for a budget. Estimate the allowance for the whole visit and decide how much reserve you want. If most evenings will be spent on reliable household or hotel Wi-Fi, paying more just to avoid checking a balance may add little value. I would still ask the host about reception inside the building before ordering.
Airalo is worth the extra comparison when the way you manage the trip matters as much as the opening price. Someone already comfortable with its app may prefer keeping installation instructions and later purchases in one place. For a short visit, choose a duration that reaches the final travel day. For a longer one, compare the full-trip cost rather than assuming that the smallest starting package will remain the cheapest approach. Familiarity can be useful, but I would not pay a premium without identifying what it buys me.
I would put Nomad near the top when Banglalink is the network I want for my actual stops. That might follow a conversation with relatives, a hotel or the office I will visit. Its larger fixed allowances are also a sensible comparison for someone expecting more uploads or shared use. If I wanted a backup connection, I would check that it adds a different underlying network. Two brand names on the phone can otherwise leave the same reception problem unresolved.
Holafly makes the most sense when the phone will do most of the work and usage is hard to predict. A visit with frequent app calls and uploads can make choosing the travel dates more convenient than estimating a total. I would be much more cautious about using it as the main connection for a partner’s phone or a laptop. Check the daily sharing limit against the work you actually need to finish. A comfortable handset allowance is not a substitute for a suitable plan for all your devices.
Orange World deserves a look when you have a clear reason to use ordinary calls or texts. Think through the contacts you expect to reach and check that the calling terms suit those numbers. If everyone already uses messaging apps, the extra feature may not justify changing your data choice. If you need people to reach you on a local Bangladeshi +880 number, investigate the local operator route instead. For an extended family stay, also ask how long the number can remain active before attaching important accounts to it.
My final decision would come down to three things: the places I will stay, the people who need to reach me and the devices that need data. Match those to the exact package, then confirm activation and what happens if it runs out. Save the pickup address, bookings and essential contacts offline before arrival. That preparation is more useful than a large data figure that leaves the rest of the trip’s needs unanswered.
The buttons open the provider stores. Choose the exact Bangladesh product discussed here, including eSIMGo Bangladesh or Orange World where relevant. Apply the code for that provider to eligible purchases.
