The best eSIM for Israel is not necessarily the one with the biggest data allowance. Before comparing gigabytes, decide whether you need ordinary local calls, how much data you will share with a laptop and when your package should start. Those three details separate several otherwise similar offers.
There is a useful example in Airalo’s current catalogue: 5 GB for seven days costs US$7, while a package with the same data and duration plus 50 local minutes and 50 SMS costs US$9. If you need to call a hotel or a local contact, that US$2 difference may matter more than buying extra data.
This guide compares five providers using their published Israel prices, networks and plan conditions. It also puts a direct local offer beside the travel packages, so you can see when a visitor plan with calls deserves a closer look.
The short answer
Airalo is my starting point for most modest-data trips: 10 GB for 30 days costs US$11.50, and its separate Annatel+ range adds local calls and SMS. Ubigi is the first unlimited option I would compare, with 20 GB at full speed and then 2 Mbps over seven days for US$19.
Nomad eSIM becomes more competitive at 50 GB for 30 days, costing US$39 with three named network partners. aloSIM combines fixed data with an optional Hushed app-number benefit. Holafly suits unlimited use on your own phone, with a separate 1 GB daily hotspot cap.
These are choices for different needs, not a measured speed ranking. No plan here guarantees coverage at every address or on every route.
Who is behind this comparison? I am André, a Brazilian living in Belgium and the founder of André On Digital. I have used Nomad eSIM in Portugal and in Dessel, Belgium, and Holafly during my travels in Thailand. That experience shapes the questions I ask about setup, validity and everyday use.
I have not field-tested these plans in Israel. The destination-specific recommendations below come from official product pages and support documents. They are not claims of measured local speeds or first-hand coverage testing. More about André On Digital.
Five Israel eSIMs at a glance
The first four rows use 10 GB for 30 days so the fixed-data prices are easy to compare. Holafly sells a different product, unlimited phone data for a chosen number of days. Read its hotspot and fair-use conditions before treating it as a substitute.
| Provider and example | Price before coupon | What makes it useful | Reader code |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Airalo 10 GB / 30 days | US$11.50 | Competitive fixed data; separate Annatel+ plans include local calls | ANDRE15: 15% on eligible purchases |
| 2. Ubigi 10 GB / 30 days | US$12 | Reusable profile; unlimited alternatives publish speed thresholds | ANDREONDIGITAL: 10% on eligible plans |
| 3. Nomad eSIM 10 GB / 30 days | US$19 | Three named network partners; stronger value at 50 GB | ANDRE15: 15% on eligible plans |
| 4. aloSIM 10 GB / 30 days | US$12 | HOT Mobile data and an eligible Hushed app-number benefit | ANDREONDIGITAL: 15% on eligible packages |
| 5. Holafly Unlimited / 7 days | US$27.50 | Duration-based phone use; 1 GB/day hotspot | ANDREONDIGITAL: 5% on eligible plans |
All prices are before discounts. Reader codes can have product, promotion or account restrictions. Use the code belonging to the provider and check the final amount. We have not verified redemption through a completed purchase.
Two coupon limits to check: Airalo allows a discount code or Airmoney, not both on the same order. Nomad eSIM excludes plans below US$5 from its general promo rules, so do not count on ANDRE15 for the US$4.50 package. Its published rules also exclude unlimited and already-discounted plans; check the actual code terms under Profile > Promo.
Published networks, calls and hotspot
| Selected product | Published Israel network / technology | Ordinary calls | Hotspot and speed limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airalo Annatel / Annatel+ | Annatel, 5G listed | Only Annatel+ includes local minutes and SMS | Fixed allowance shared; unlimited: 3 GB/day then 1 Mbps |
| Ubigi Israel | Hot Mobile and Pelephone, 4G/5G | Data only | Sharing allowed; 7-day unlimited: 20 GB total then 2 Mbps |
| Nomad eSIM Israel, Brown profile | Pelephone, Hot Mobile and Partner, 5G listed | Data only | Uses the fixed allowance |
| aloSIM Israel | HOT Mobile, LTE/5G | Hushed is a separate app service, not a local cellular line | Uses the fixed allowance |
| Holafly Israel | Partner, Pelephone and Hot Mobile; 5G where available | Data only | 1 GB/day sharing; phone-data fair use applies |
Airalo identifies Annatel in the selected product details. I have kept that exact name instead of guessing an underlying host network. Likewise, a list of three network partners does not mean a phone connects to all three at once. 5G depends on the package, compatible hardware and coverage at the place of use.

For Israel, check the network, the number and the clock
Start with three practical questions: which network can this exact package use, do you need an ordinary phone number, and when does the validity begin? That gives you a more useful shortlist than a headline price on its own.
| Your situation | Prioritize | Check before paying |
|---|---|---|
| A few days with maps and messaging | A small fixed-data package valid for every travel day | Whether the cheapest offer expires before your return |
| Calling accommodation or local contacts | A package with native calls and an appropriate number | Included destinations, minutes and SMS, rather than an app-only number |
| Laptop use or sharing with a companion | Hotspot allowance and the speed policy | A separate sharing cap on unlimited phone-data plans |
| Israel plus another destination | The exact country list and total validity | Whether a stopover starts the package before Israel |
A carrier list is a useful filter, but it is not a promise of signal inside your accommodation or along every road. For time-sensitive work, ask the accommodation about its Wi-Fi and keep essential documents available offline.
Native local calls and app calls solve different needs
Airalo’s Annatel+ bundles include local voice and SMS allowances. By comparison, aloSIM’s eligible Hushed offer uses a separate app and a US or Canadian number, with promotional calling credit. It runs over the internet. Choose the native line if an Israeli cellular number is your requirement; choose the app option only if that arrangement suits your calls.

1. Airalo: the most useful choice when local calls matter
Airalo earns its place through the choice between ordinary data and a package with local calls. The difference is small enough to check before buying. For seven days, 5 GB of data costs US$7. The Annatel+ version includes the same 5 GB, 50 local minutes and 50 SMS for US$9. That extra US$2 can be useful for calling an accommodation, a restaurant or a local service that does not answer through WhatsApp.
The official Israel catalogue lists Annatel with 5G. Annatel and Annatel+ are different purchase choices: the standard data package does not acquire a voice allowance just because another option on the page has one. The minutes in Annatel+ are for local calls, not an international calling bundle.
| Package | Validity | Price before coupon |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB, data only | 3 days | US$4 |
| 5 GB, data only | 7 days | US$7 |
| 5 GB + 50 local minutes + 50 SMS | 7 days | US$9 |
| 5 GB, data only | 30 days | US$8 |
| 10 GB, data only | 30 days | US$11.50 |
| 20 GB, data only | 30 days | US$16.50 |
| 10 GB + 100 local minutes + 100 SMS | 30 days | US$22 |
| 50 GB, data only | 30 days | US$39 |
For a longer stay, the 10 GB/30-day data package is a sensible starting comparison at US$11.50. The selected plans are rechargeable and begin their validity with first supported-network use. The current details give 90 days after purchase to activate.
Airalo also sells unlimited Israel packages, including seven days at US$26.50. Here, unlimited means 3 GB per day before the speed drops to 1 Mbps. A fixed 20 GB allowance works differently: you decide how to distribute it across the validity period.
Hotspot use is supported when the device and network allow it. Follow the Annatel instructions supplied in the app: the current profile does not require data roaming. If you buy Annatel+ for ordinary calls, confirm that your exact phone model supports the required voice service as well as eSIM data.
2. Ubigi: a clear choice for a larger high-speed allowance
Ubigi makes the unlimited comparison easier because it publishes the full-speed threshold and the speed afterwards. Its seven-day unlimited Israel package costs US$19 and includes 20 GB at full speed, then 2 Mbps for the remainder of the plan. This is one allowance for the whole package, rather than a separate daily allowance.
The official network table names Hot Mobile and Pelephone, with 4G and 5G indicated for both. Those are available network options, not a promise of a particular speed inside a building or on a remote road.
| Israel package | Validity | Price before coupon | Full-speed allowance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 GB | 30 days | US$6 | 3 GB total |
| 10 GB | 7 days | US$10 | 10 GB total |
| 10 GB | 30 days | US$12 | 10 GB total |
| 50 GB | 30 days | US$39 | 50 GB total |
| Unlimited | 7 days | US$19 | 20 GB, then 2 Mbps |
| Unlimited | 15 days | US$34 | 30 GB, then 2 Mbps |
| Unlimited | 30 days | US$49 | 60 GB, then 2 Mbps |
The seven-day, 15-day and 30-day unlimited products have different total thresholds. Check the row for the actual package you are buying. A 2 Mbps connection can still be useful after the threshold, but it is a significant reduction for large uploads or high-quality video.
Ubigi allows sharing from the same allowance. For someone using a laptop occasionally, that is easier to plan around than a separate small daily hotspot quota. Heavy cloud backups still consume the full-speed pool, so schedule those for a reliable fixed connection when possible.
Smartstart begins the plan when you reach a covered destination; an unused package expires six months after purchase. The eSIM is reusable, and the app supports top-ups even without Wi-Fi or remaining data credits. These Israel packages are data-only, so choose Airalo’s voice bundle instead if calling ordinary local numbers is the main requirement.
3. Nomad eSIM: a 50 GB option with three named network partners
Nomad eSIM is worth comparing for a larger fixed allowance and a clearly stated network list. Its current Israel plans identify Pelephone, Hot Mobile and Partner, with 5G listed in the plan details. That gives you three published partner options. It does not guarantee that each network will be available everywhere, nor that the phone combines all three connections.
The price ladder matters. In the official catalogue, 10 GB for 30 days costs US$19 and 20 GB costs US$29. Airalo and Ubigi have lower-priced medium-data alternatives in this comparison. At 50 GB, however, Nomad eSIM costs US$39 for 30 days, matching the published 50 GB prices of those two providers. That is the more interesting comparison for a heavier user.
| Israel data | Validity | Price before coupon |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | US$4.50 |
| 3 GB | 30 days | US$9 |
| 5 GB | 30 days | US$14 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | US$19 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | US$29 |
| 50 GB | 30 days | US$39 |
Hotspot is supported, drawing from the same purchased data. These are fixed-data packages, giving you one allowance to distribute across the trip rather than a fresh high-speed amount each day. Include both phone and laptop usage when choosing the size.
The current Brown-profile instructions say the plan begins on first data use, or automatically on day 60 after purchase if it remains unused. The profile is data-only with no ordinary phone number, and it can only be installed once. Install it on the phone you will actually take.
Arrange an add-on while the original plan is still active and has data left. This profile does not allow you to wait until exhaustion or expiry and then add data to the same eSIM. Under the published add-on rules, a queued addition starts when the original package runs out or expires. That detail is more useful than a vague promise that every plan can be topped up at any time.
4. aloSIM: fixed data with a useful calling-app extra

aloSIM earns its place for travelers who want a straightforward data allowance and might occasionally need to call a hotel or another ordinary phone number. The calling benefit needs explaining carefully, but the fixed-data prices also stand on their own. Moving from 5 GB to 10 GB costs another US$4, while 20 GB gives heavier users more room without choosing an unlimited package.
| Data | Validity | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | US$4.50 |
| 2 GB | 15 days | US$5.50 |
| 3 GB | 30 days | US$6 |
| 5 GB | 30 days | US$8 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | US$12 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | US$17 |
The current Israel listing names HOT Mobile with LTE/5G access. That identifies the advertised network and technology, rather than promising 5G at every stop. Hotspot sharing is supported, and the connected devices use your purchased allowance. A laptop downloading updates can consume that allowance much faster than a phone checking maps.
What the included phone number actually means
For an eligible package, the Hushed promotion provides a US or Canadian number in a separate app, with US$3 of calling and texting credit. You redeem it after purchase and use it over mobile data or Wi-Fi. It is not an Israeli +972 number or native cellular calling on the eSIM. The free number normally lasts as long as the data package, capped at 30 days for longer packages. Check that your selected package includes the offer.
Installation and topping up
You can install before departure. According to aloSIM’s activation instructions, prepaid data starts automatically in the correct country or region once the phone is configured properly. Keep the profile installed if you need more data. The top-up guide says a new package added to an active eSIM starts when the current package expires. Buy it while you still have Wi-Fi or data available.
My take: choose aloSIM if you want a clear fixed-data budget and would use the separate calling app. If your booking or local service specifically requires an Israeli mobile number, arrange that separately rather than assuming the Hushed number meets the requirement.
5. Holafly: choose your days for unlimited use on the phone

Holafly is the phone-first option for someone who would rather choose trip length than a fixed data bucket. Its Israel product includes unlimited phone data, and the price changes with the number of days. Seven days costs US$27.50, while 15 days costs US$50.50 before a coupon.
The official Israel page names Partner, Pelephone and Hot Mobile. It describes 5G where available, alongside 4G and LTE. The same page acknowledges that coverage may be weaker in desert areas and on roads away from main towns. A network list is useful, but it is not evidence that a specific hike, beach or hotel room has reliable reception.
| Unlimited phone data | Price before coupon | Hotspot limit |
|---|---|---|
| 1 day | US$5.90 | 1 GB per day |
| 3 days | US$12.50 | 1 GB per day |
| 5 days | US$20.50 | 1 GB per day |
| 7 days | US$27.50 | 1 GB per day |
| 10 days | US$36.50 | 1 GB per day |
| 15 days | US$50.50 | 1 GB per day |
| 30 days | US$73.90 | 1 GB per day |
Phone data and shared data have different limits. Holafly allows 1 GB of hotspot use per day. A seven-day purchase therefore provides up to 7 GB of sharing across the trip, subject to that daily cap. It is not interchangeable with a 20 GB bucket that can be used heavily on one working day.
Fair use also applies. The provider says a local operator may temporarily reduce the speed, with the restriction resetting the following day. It does not publish a numerical Israel threshold. That makes the full-speed boundary less predictable than Ubigi’s stated allowance, even though both products use the word unlimited.
Install over a stable connection before departure, then follow the destination activation instructions. Validity begins when the eSIM connects to a supported network, and a plan day is a full 24 hours. This product does not include a local number or ordinary call minutes. It suits frequent use on your own phone; for long laptop sessions or local telephone calls, compare the other plan structures first.
Need local calls? Compare Pelephone before paying for more travel data
A local option can also be bought online. Pelephone’s IsraelieSIM storefront lists these packages, outside our five affiliate picks:
| Package | Validity | Price in Israeli shekels | Published voice allowance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100GB | 30 days | NIS59 | 3,000 domestic minutes and 1,500 SMS |
| 200GB, marked 5G | 30 days | NIS79 | 3,000 domestic minutes and 1,500 SMS |
The terms limit included SMS to 50 per day and exclude special numbers and Palestinian cellular operators from included units. Calls require compatible VoLTE support. These packages do not include roaming outside Israel.
There is also a timing difference: a new eSIM starts on first use in Israel, while a recharge starts immediately after purchase. Confirm the final price and phone compatibility. If local calls and a large allowance matter, this deserves a comparison with the travel shortlist.
Israel, the West Bank and onward destinations: read the exact coverage list
Do not treat an Israel product name as confirmation for every location in the West Bank or Gaza. Give the provider your specific destination and ask which package and network are supported there. General city descriptions and a colored map are not a guarantee of a working connection.
The same discipline applies to a separate stay in Jordan, Egypt or a flight connection elsewhere. Check every destination in the actual regional package, then check what starts its validity. A plan that begins during an included stopover has fewer days remaining when you reach Israel.
Travel check, 13 October 2026: review your government’s current advice and your airline’s operating information. The UK government page has location-specific restrictions and warns that regional conditions can disrupt travel. Mobile coverage does not establish whether a route is open or travel is advisable.

Choose a data budget you can actually use
Use your phone’s recent mobile-data history as a starting point, then account for the tasks you will add while away. Navigation, photo uploads and a laptop can change the budget. These divisions are simple planning examples, not measured app consumption:
| Allowance and trip | Daily budget if divided evenly | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| 3GB across 7 days | About 430MB | Background uploads can use a noticeable share |
| 5GB across 7 days | About 710MB | Include video and shared-device use in your estimate |
| 10GB across 14 days | About 710MB | More total data does not mean a larger daily budget |
Before a long day away from Wi-Fi, download the maps, bookings and files you know you will need. Move optional backups and app updates to Wi-Fi. If you expect sustained laptop work, compare a large fixed allowance with the unlimited package’s hotspot and reduced-speed rules.
Install before departure, then check the connection after arrival
- Check the exact phone. Confirm eSIM support for its model and purchase market, plus carrier-unlocked status. A model family name alone is not enough.
- Read the start rule. Save the activation deadline, validity and top-up instructions for the selected package.
- Install with a stable connection. Use the provider app or QR instructions, label the line clearly and keep the support details available.
- Select the intended data line. At the destination, enable that line and apply its roaming and APN instructions. Review the home line and automatic switching separately.
- Test the phone with Wi-Fi off. Open a website and check that data works before testing hotspot on another device.
- If something fails, keep the profile. Check the remaining allowance and settings, then ask support before deleting the eSIM. An installation code is not necessarily reusable.
Do not automatically switch data roaming on for every eSIM. Airalo’s reviewed Israel profile says it is not required. Use the roaming and APN settings supplied with the actual purchase, and keep the home line’s settings separate.
Device-specific help: Apple’s international eSIM guide and Google’s Pixel dual-SIM settings. Menus and available features depend on the phone and operator.

How these five providers were selected
The shortlist comes from our existing affiliate providers, reviewed against current official Israel catalogues and support pages. I compared data, duration, displayed USD price, published networks, calling features, hotspot, reduced-speed rules, activation and top-ups. The local Pelephone offer is a separate, non-affiliate benchmark.
The order reflects the practical differences a traveller can verify. Airalo combines useful fixed-data pricing with a separate native-calling option. Ubigi explains its unlimited thresholds clearly. Nomad eSIM is competitive at 50 GB and identifies three partners. aloSIM offers straightforward fixed data with a distinct app-calling benefit. Holafly prioritizes unlimited use on the phone, with a sharing cap that needs to suit the trip.
I have not run Israel speed tests or measured latency on these profiles. The scenic illustrations explain the guide and are not photographs proving field testing. A provider’s general country coverage does not settle reception at an individual address, and affiliate participation is not evidence that a plan is the right one for every reader.
Israel eSIM FAQ
What should I check before choosing an eSIM for Israel?
Check the exact local network, whether the package includes ordinary calls and what starts its validity. Then compare the total for your dates and data needs. A low price per GB is useful only if you can use that allowance before the package expires. Updated October 2026.
Can I buy an Israel eSIM before I travel?
Yes, international providers and Pelephone sell eSIMs online. Check your exact phone model, carrier lock and installation instructions first. Purchasing, installing and starting the validity period can be separate events. Updated October 2026.
What is the difference between Airalo Annatel and Annatel+?
For seven days, Annatel offers 5GB of data for US$7. Annatel+ offers the same 5GB plus 50 local minutes and 50 SMS for US$9. Select the voice-and-text package if you need those local allowances. The optional aloSIM Hushed US or Canadian app number is a different service, not an Israeli cellular line. Updated October 2026.
Is there a local eSIM alternative with calls?
Pelephone lists IsraelieSIM with 100GB for 30 days at NIS59, plus domestic minutes and SMS. Confirm current purchase conditions, VoLTE compatibility and excluded call types. This is a local benchmark outside our five affiliate picks. Updated October 2026.
When should I buy a Nomad eSIM Israel add-on?
For the reviewed Brown profile, buy an add-on while the current package is active and still has data remaining. The queued add-on starts when the original allowance runs out or expires. Do not wait until the package has already ended to arrange it, and confirm the conditions of the profile in your order. Updated October 2026.
How much full-speed data is included in Ubigi Israel unlimited?
The seven-day US$19 package includes 20GB at full speed, the 15-day US$34 package includes 30GB, and the 30-day US$49 package includes 60GB. After that package allowance is used, speed is reduced to 2Mbps for the remaining validity. These are total package thresholds, not daily allowances. Updated October 2026.
Does an Israel eSIM guarantee 5G?
No. The package must permit 5G, the phone must support it and suitable coverage must be available. A local operator offering 5G does not prove every travel eSIM using that operator has the same access. Updated October 2026.
Will an Israel eSIM cover the West Bank or Gaza?
Do not assume that from the product name or a general destination map. Ask the provider about the exact location and package, and do not rely on continuous connectivity. Check current official travel advice separately from telecom coverage. Updated October 2026.
Will it also work in Jordan, Egypt or my stopover country?
Only if each destination appears in the specific package coverage list. A plan sold under a Middle East or global label can have a different list from another provider. An included stopover may also start validity earlier than your arrival in Israel. Updated October 2026.
Is 5GB enough for a week in Israel?
Divided across seven days, 5GB gives roughly 710MB a day. That is a planning budget, not a promise about how many maps, calls or videos it buys. Check your recent phone usage and add any laptop or second-phone traffic before choosing. Updated October 2026.
Can I share an Israel eSIM with my laptop?
Choose a package that explicitly permits hotspot use and check its separate sharing limit. Unlimited phone data may have a daily hotspot cap or a high-speed threshold. A large advertised allowance alone does not settle that question. Updated October 2026.
Can I keep WhatsApp on my usual number?
You can generally keep the number already registered in WhatsApp while the new eSIM supplies data. Ordinary calls and SMS on your home line remain separate and subject to your home provider terms. Updated October 2026.
Should I turn data roaming on or off?
Follow the purchased profile instructions rather than a universal rule. Airalo’s reviewed Israel profile says data roaming is not required, while other travel profiles may require it. Choose the intended mobile-data line, then check your home SIM and automatic data switching separately. Updated October 2026.
What should I do if the eSIM does not connect after arrival?
First turn Wi-Fi off and check whether the phone itself can browse. Then verify the data line, active package, roaming instruction and exact APN supplied by the provider. Contact support with the error and location before deleting the eSIM or buying another package. Updated October 2026.

Final verdict: decide about calls before you decide about gigabytes
For a first comparison, I would open Airalo’s Israel catalogue and choose between data-only Annatel and Annatel+ with calls. The 10 GB/30-day data package at US$11.50 is competitive for a stay with maps, messaging and ordinary browsing. For a week, the 5 GB Annatel+ package at US$9 adds 50 local minutes and 50 SMS. Buy the version that solves the actual need, rather than assuming extra data replaces a telephone allowance.
For heavier use over a week, Ubigi deserves the next look. Its US$19 unlimited package gives you 20 GB at full speed, followed by 2 Mbps. That is a clear boundary you can plan around. The 15-day and 30-day versions have different thresholds, so match the package to the trip rather than extending the seven-day rule in your head.
Nomad eSIM is more convincing at 50 GB than at 10 GB. The US$39/30-day package matches the 50 GB price of Airalo and Ubigi, while naming Pelephone, Hot Mobile and Partner. For someone who prefers a fixed allowance and expects to share it with a laptop, that is a sensible comparison. Arrange any add-on while the Brown-profile package is still active and has data remaining.
aloSIM fits a fixed-data budget when the separate Hushed number is useful to you. Its 10 GB/30-day plan costs US$12. The app benefit can help with calling, but a US or Canadian app number is not the same as an Israeli mobile line. If a local contact or service specifically requires the latter, resolve that before buying.
Holafly makes sense when unlimited use on your own phone matters more than sharing. Seven days costs US$27.50, with 1 GB of hotspot per day and phone-data fair use. I would not choose it for substantial laptop work without first comparing that daily cap against Ubigi or a large fixed-data package.
Finally, if ordinary local calls and a large allowance are central to the trip, compare Pelephone’s visitor offer too. Whatever you choose, save the exact network, activation rule and support instructions before departure. The best purchase is the one whose conditions fit your dates and phone use, not simply the one with the largest number on the sales page.
